1st Annual Upstate Bartender’s Ball
On Sunday May 16th the Sawmill on North Main Street will host the Upstate’s first ever Bartender’s Ball. While the concept is nothing new, some cities have been holding them for over 20 years, this will be a first for the Upstate.
Sponsored by Red Bull, Guitar Center, Rock 101, 93.3 The Planet, Henry’s Smokehouse, Thomas Creek Brewery, Industry Magazine and numerous spirit brands, the event will be hosted by sixteen local bars and restaurants serving some of their finest libations. Throw in five of the Upstate’s hottest club DJs and four of the most talented bands around and you’ve got one hell of a party. Add a dinner buffet from Henry’s Smokehouse, a Beer Garden with Thomas Creek and Blue Ridge Brewing Company and 500 people dancing the night away and you’ve got a Bartender’s Ball.
The 16 participating bars have chosen themes and will dress up and decorate accordingly. Besides mixing drinks they will be competing for the “Best Bar of the Ball” award. Attendees to the ball will vote for the winner via text message.
Rockin’ the Guitar Center live music stage is SoulShine, The Swingin’ Richards, TJ Lazer Unplugged and Spencer Rush. Manning the Red Bull DJ Booth is DJ Sandman, DJ Funky White Boy, DJ J-Rok, DJ Scientist and DJ Kurious George.
Proceeds from the event are going to launch S.I.R.F., The Service Industry Relief Fund a new non-profit that assists Service Industry professionals in their time of need.
The Holiday Inn Express on North Main Street is offering half priced rooms (includes a free breakfast) the night of the ball and the event organizers have arranged for a shuttle to take guests from the Holiday Inn to the Sawmill and back.
